Kathleen Addison is a Senior Behavioral Designer at ideas42 since August 2021, with previous experience as a Communications Manager at the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, where dissemination strategies and impactful messaging were developed. Prior roles include Senior Policy Consultant at VisualResearch, where statistical analysis and digital tools for sanction evaluations were produced, and Researcher at the Harvard Carr Center for Human Rights Policy, focusing on freedom of speech. Kathleen has also been active in grassroots community initiatives, including founding the Action Party for criminal justice reform. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Public Policy Analysis from Harvard Kennedy School and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Yale University.

ideas42 is a design and research lab that uses behavioral economics to address complex social problems. ideas42 was established in 2008 by Sendhil Mullainathan of Harvard University, Antoinette Schoar of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Simeon Djankov, then of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, EldarShafir of Princeton University, Jeffrey Kling of the Brookings Institution, and Michael Kremer of Harvard University.At ideas42 we look at everything – including our own internal processes — through a behavioral lens. We approach our work with a spirit of generosity, but we retain a sense of playfulness that helps to drive our creativity. As individuals, we are tenacious and rigorous, and take shared responsibility for the organization’s success.
