Carolien Arents has over 20 years of experience in human resources and talent management. Carolien is currently the Director of HR & Talent Management at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative. Prior to this, they worked as the Manager of HR at The British School of Amsterdam and as the Director of HR & IT at Heliconia Group. Carolien has also held senior HR positions at CHC Helicopter and Médecins Sans Frontières, where they played a crucial role in integrating staff and harmonizing regulations. Carolien has experience in global HR strategies and implementation, as seen during their time as the VP of Human Resources at Strauss Coffee B.V. and the Global Lead of HR for the Vegetable Division at Syngenta. Carolien has a strong background in HR management, including talent management, succession planning, and HR system implementation.
Carolien Arents attended the Royal Military Academy from 1986 to 1990, where they studied Business Administration. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Unethical Decision Making in Organizations from the University of Lausanne in 2017, and in Design: Creation of Artifacts in Society and New Models of Business in Society from Coursera in 2013. Carolien also completed a course in Conflict Management for Managers and Leaders at New York University.
