Els Haelterman has a diverse work experience in various sectors. Els started their career as a sales and marketing assistant at Paradiso Filmed Entertainment in 2003. Els then worked as an Advisor for the Speaker at the Federal House of Representatives from 2005 to 2007, and later became an Advisor for the Former Speaker and MP until 2011. From 2011 to 2015, Els worked as a Project Coordinator at Exchange. Els then moved on to become an Advisor for Development Cooperation at the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Development Cooperation from 2015 to 2019. Currently, Els holds the position of Director of International Partnerships and Fundraising - Country Director Belgium at IDH, where they started in August 2020. Prior to this role, they also served as the Senior Program Manager for Beyond Chocolate and Country Coordinator for Belgium at IDH from 2019 to 2020.
Els Haelterman received a Master's degree in Marketing Management from Vlerick Business School in 2003. Prior to that, they studied Law at Ghent University from 1997 to 2002.
