Ronald Sanabria is a seasoned professional in sustainable development and tourism, currently serving as a Senior Program Manager at IDH, The Sustainable Trade Initiative, since January 2020, and as an Advisor for the Tu-MoDeLo initiative at Fundecooperación para el Desarrollo Sostenible. With extensive experience at the Rainforest Alliance from 1998 to 2020, Ronald coordinated over 75 projects across Latin America, promoting sustainable tourism and connecting local businesses to markets. Additionally, Ronald taught various courses at the Universidad de Costa Rica for over two decades, shaping the education of many engineers, and has contributed to quality assurance and sustainability consultancy projects. Ronald holds a Master of Arts in Sustainable International Development from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University and a Licenciatura in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de Costa Rica.

Together with partners, IDH designs, co-funds and prototypes new economically viable approaches to realize green & inclusive growth at scale. Our approaches are designed to drive sustainability in commodity sectors and sourcing areas, while delivering impact on the Sustainable Development Goals. IDH is supported by multiple European governments, and we work together with 735 partners around the world, including 275 private sector actors, governments and others to implement 70 programs in 13 sectors
