Malena Cabrera has over 20 years of work experience in the healthcare industry. Malena started their career in 1994 as an IT Business Analyst at CalOptima, where they worked until 1996. Malena then joined L.A. Care Health Plan as an IT Business Analyst for a year before moving to IEHP in 1997. At IEHP, they held various roles including Operations Supervisor from 1997 to 2002 and Operations Manager from 2002 to 2007. Malena then transitioned to a managerial role in IT, joining IEHP as a Medicare Data Analytics Manager in 2013. Malena later served as the Director of Enrollment and Eligibility from 2013 to 2016, and as the Director of Business Systems from 2016 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Director of IT Strategic Programs at IEHP.
Malena Cabrera holds a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Organizational Communication from California State University, Fresno. Malena has also earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Communications with a focus on Organizational Communication from Universidad de Lima.
