Stephen McCrory is a Research Associate at the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC) since December 2015, specializing in robotics and autonomous systems. In collaboration with NASA Johnson Space Center, Stephen has been involved in designing algorithms and user interfaces for autonomous path planning with the Valkyrie project and writing software for the Llama quadrupedal robot as part of the Robotics Collaborative Technology Alliance. Prior experience includes roles as an Android Developer at Bitwage, Inc., where Stephen developed and deployed a mobile application, and as an Engineer at Formlabs, focusing on UI elements and algorithms. Stephen also contributed to the DARPA Robotics Challenge, enhancing the control tools for the Atlas robot. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Computer Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, completed in 2014.
