Rick Zak

Richard Zak has extensive experience in data governance, risk, and compliance, currently serving as Director of Data Governance for the Worldwide Public Sector Executive Office at Microsoft since December 2001. Zak has held various director-level roles within Microsoft, focusing on solutions for public safety and community welfare, alongside leading cross-industry business development efforts. Prior to Microsoft, Zak was a Lieutenant at the Western Springs Fire Department and held executive sales positions at several technology firms, including Alphablox Corporation and META Group. Zak's educational credentials include a Master's in Homeland Security from The George Washington University and an MBA with a double major in Finance and Marketing from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business, complemented by a BS in Business Administration from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
