Illini Solar Car
Vayun Gupta is currently a Course Assistant, Lab Assistant, and Grader for ECE 110 at Illinois ECE, where responsibilities include guiding lab sections in circuit application projects and grading homework assignments. As an Undergraduate Researcher, Vayun leads a team analyzing cybersecurity risks in drone Remote ID integration and developed a custom drone ID protocol. Previous experience includes an Intelligent Automations Internship at PwC, focusing on communications mining and robotic process automation, and a Cloud and Embedded Software Engineering Internship at Yotta Data Services, where Vayun developed an autonomous security camera project. Vayun is pursuing dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Engineering and Innovation, Leadership, and Engineering Entrepreneurship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, while also holding an IB Diploma and achieving high academic performance throughout earlier education.

The Illini Solar Car team from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign harnesses the skills of a diverse group of students in engineering and non-engineering fields in pursuit of creating the world’s best solar electric vehicle. Through hands-on, interdisciplinary work that fosters real-world applications, we spark sustainable thinking by designing and building a road-legal car to compete in international competitions.
