Illinois Prison Project
Jennifer Soble is a legal professional with extensive experience in public defense and criminal justice reform. As the Founder and Executive Director of the Illinois Prison Project since April 2019, Soble leads initiatives aimed at advancing justice. Previous roles include Senior Legal Counsel at The Justice Collaborative, and Assistant Federal Defender at the Federal Community Defender for the Northern District of Indiana. Soble has also contributed to legal education as an Adjunct Professor and Visiting Assistant Clinical Professor at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. Early career experience includes positions as a Trial Attorney at the Public Defender Service and a Litigation Fellow at Public Citizen. Soble completed a Doctor of Law (J.D.) at Yale Law School and holds a Bachelor's degree in History and Honors Philosophy from the University of Michigan.
