Dimitrios Velenis has extensive experience in the field of electrical and computer engineering, currently serving as Group Manager for 3D & Silicon Photonics Devices and Components at imec since April 2008, where leadership focuses on advanced system applications utilizing innovative technologies. Previous roles include Principal Member of Technical Staff and Team Lead for 3D System Design and Signal Analysis, overseeing high-performance system design. Dimitrios also specialized in integration cost analysis and served as a Research Engineer and Research Associate at the University of Rochester, addressing critical issues in integrated circuits. Earlier academic experience at the Illinois Institute of Technology included directing a laboratory dedicated to high-performance IC design, while initial internships at IBM and Intel involved advanced power analysis and timing methodologies, respectively. Dimitrios holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Rochester and a BA from the Technical University of Crete.
