Efrain Altamirano-Sanchez is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in research and development, currently holding the position of R&D Surface and Interface Wet Processing Manager at imec since June 2006. Efrain has also served as Principal Member of the Technical Staff and team leader, providing technical guidance for the FEOL-MOL etch team while ensuring alignment with imec's strategic goals and vendor roadmaps. Prior roles include Senior Researcher and R&D Engineer, where Efrain managed projects on silicon structure profile control and mentored graduate students, as well as Process Engineer, focusing on dry-etch processes. Earlier experience includes doctoral research at the Institute de Recherches sur la catalyse in Lyon, France, and process engineering at Woodbridge Foam Corporation. Efrain holds an MBA from Solvay Business School, a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from a collaborative program between UAMI and the Institute de recherches sur la catalyse, as well as advanced degrees in Chemical Engineering from Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
