Philippe Absil has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Philippe started as a Business Development Manager at Little Optics from December 2002 to December 2003. Philippe then worked as a Program Manager from January 2004 to December 2007. In January 2008, they transitioned to the role of Operations Manager, where they were responsible for R&D Operations and business intelligence IT tools development until February 2011. Philippe Absil joined imec as a Program Director from December 2010 to September 2013. Philippe then became the R&D Department Head from October 2013 to April 2019. Currently, they serve as the Vice President R&D and Department Head since May 2019.
Philippe Absil has a Master's degree in Physics Engineering from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, which they obtained between 1992 and 1997. Philippe later pursued a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland from 1997 to 2000. In 2008, they attended Vlerick Business School and completed a CMMP (Certified Middle Management Professional) program.
