Immigrants Working Centre
Wendy Johnson has extensive experience in settlement counseling and community facilitation, currently serving as a Family Settlement Counsellor at Immigrants Working Centre since May 2003. In this role, Wendy provides information and referrals to newcomers, assists with immigration forms, and organizes information sessions to support settlement processes. Additionally, Wendy has facilitated community events and workshops, collaborated with service providers, and maintained knowledge of immigration updates. Previous roles include Research Assistant at McMaster University focusing on mental health impacts during the settlement process and Youth Group Facilitator at SACHA, where Wendy coordinated outreach and facilitated workshops for multicultural youth. Wendy holds multiple certificates in counseling and community-based research, as well as a diploma in Early Childhood Education from Sheridan College.
