Gerhard Pries

Gerhard Pries is the founder and executive chair of Sarona Asset Management, a firm investing private equity and private debt in mid-market companies across global emerging markets. Sarona invests on behalf of family and institutional investors, seeking strong financial returns, and positive social and environmental impact wherever it invests.

With 25 years of emerging market investing experience, Mr. Pries has been a founder of several financial firms, including Sarona and Washington-based MicroVest Capital Management. He currently serves on the Boards of Grand Challenges Canada and ImpactAssets. Mr. Pries started his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers, with formative experiences in international development finance.
