Meral Y.

Meral Y. currently serves as a Visiting Researcher in the Department of Bioengineering at Imperial College London since August 2023. Meral has been a Principal Investigator at the Sabancı University Nanotechnology Research and Application Centre (SUNUM) since November 2011, focusing on research related to DNA/RNA Aptamers. Previous positions include Lecturer at Gebze Technical University and Visiting Research Fellow roles at multiple institutions, including Imperial College London, University of Leeds, and University of Cambridge, with various funded research projects on topics such as target-specific DNA probe development and characterization, and semi-automated SELEX for aptamer production. Meral Y. earned a PhD in Biotechnology from Ankara University in 2011 and a BSc in Biology from the same institution in 2004.
