Alkisti Florou serves as the Special Advisor to the CEO at the IPTO-Independent Power Transmission Operator since January 2024, focusing on coordinating strategic projects and conducting policy analysis. Prior to this role, Alkisti was the Policy and Communication Manager at E3-Modelling Energy-Economy-Environment from January 2020 to January 2024, where responsibilities included communicating model-based assessments of EU policies and producing scientific publications. From February 2015 to January 2020, Alkisti managed EU affairs and projects at the DAFNI Network, overseeing research and implementation of EU-funded projects. Earlier experience includes positions at the European Climate Foundation, UN Environment, the European Commission, MEPIELAN Centre, Emmaüs International, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic. Educational qualifications encompass an MSc in Environment and Development from The London School of Economics and a BA in International and European Studies from Panteion University, along with an undergraduate exchange programme at Sciences Po.

The Independent Power Transmission Operator (IPTO or ADMIE) S.A. undertakes the role of Transmission System Operator for the Greek Electricity Transmission System. As such, IPTO performs the duties of System operation, control, maintenance and development so as to ensure Greece’s electricity supply in an adequate, safe, efficient and reliable manner. Furthermore, IPTO operates the Greek electricity market in accordance with the principles of transparency, equality and free competition.
