Rahul Shewani

Rahul Shewani has a diverse work experience in software engineering and consulting roles. Rahul is currently working as a Software Engineer II at Index Exchange since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Engineer at the same company from January 2021 to April 2021. In this role, they designed and developed RESTful APIs using Golang and Docker for a digital advertisement bidding system.

Before joining Index Exchange, Rahul worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Dalhousie University from September 2020 to December 2020. In this role, they revamped the course structure and instructional material for a software development course, making it more compatible for online learning. Rahul also mentored groups of students in developing a Java-based Command Line Hockey Simulation Game.

Prior to their teaching assistant role, Rahul worked at CAPIOT Software as an Associate Consultant from December 2017 to December 2019. Rahul led a team of four in automating the outward remittance process for a banking domain, resulting in significant reduction of work hours. Rahul also played a key role in designing the database, cloud, and high-level architecture for the project.

Rahul began their career as an Associate Software Engineer at Accenture from November 2016 to December 2017. Rahul'sresponsibilities included digitizing customer contracts for a telecom company and implementing a testing strategy in collaboration with global teams.

Rahul Shewani obtained their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Mumbai, where they attended from 2012 to 2016. Rahul then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science at Dalhousie University from 2020 to 2021.
