Mary Small

Mary Small currently serves as Managing Director, Chief Strategy Officer, National Advocacy Director, Acting National Policy Director, and Legislative Director at Indivisible Project, beginning in August 2019. Prior experience includes Policy Director at Detention Watch Network from January 2015 to July 2019, where responsibilities included leading policy advocacy efforts to dismantle the US immigration detention system and co-leading the Defund Hate campaign. Mary Small also worked as Protection Advisor for Global Detention Strategy at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and held various roles in advocacy at Jesuit Refugee Services. Educational credentials include a Master of Public Policy from the Humphrey School of Public Affairs and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Public Policy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
