Scott Lesley

President and CSO at InduPro

Scott Lesley has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Scott is currently the President and CSO at InduPro since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Merck from January 2018 to February 2022, holding positions such as Vice President of Discovery Biologics and Vice President. At Merck, they were responsible for leading research teams and collaborating across therapeutic areas for molecular discovery. Before Merck, they spent a significant portion of their career at GNF from 1999 to 2018, where they served as the Executive Director of Biotherapeutics and Biotechnology. Scott played a crucial role in developing scientific strategies in drug discovery and technology. Additionally, Lesley has academic experience, having worked at The Scripps Research Institute as an Associate Adjunct Professor and Assistant Professor of Biochemistry from 2004 to 2018. Scott focused on protein engineering approaches leveraging structural genomics technologies during this time. Prior to that, they worked at Promega as a Senior Scientist and R&D Project Manager from 1992 to 1999.

Scott Lesley holds a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Scott also completed a postdoc in Biochemistry at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to this, they obtained a B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
