Sam Avery

Sam Avery is currently a Member of Technical Staff at Inflection AI since October 2024, having previously worked as an LLM Engineer at iyo from September 2023 to October 2024. Prior to that, Sam held multiple roles at Momentus between May 2019 and September 2023, including Senior Software Engineer, Software Team Lead, Systems Engineering Lead, and Program Manager. As Co-Founder and Head of Spacecraft Integration at Audacy Corporation from March 2015 to May 2019, Sam led a team to design and launch the first all Ka-band CubeSat. Sam's experience includes research at Stanford University as a Plasma Propulsion Researcher and an internship at Lockheed Martin focusing on electric propulsion trade studies. Earlier work at NASA involved leading the UCSD Microgravity Team and designing biofuel droplet experiments. Sam holds a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from UC San Diego.
