Nathan Baltz

Nathan Baltz has over 25 years of work experience in the field of embedded systems engineering. Nathan'smost recent role is as a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer at ColdQuanta since March 2022. Prior to that, they held the same position at FIRST RF Corporation starting from December 2019.

From 2007 to 2019, Nathan was the Lead Electrical Engineer at In-Situ where they were responsible for the mixed signal complete cycle PCB design of water sensors. Nathan also worked on agile embedded development of low power DSP sensor firmware using tools like IAR, FreeRTOS, and CMX.

Before joining In-Situ, Nathan was the Founder and VP of Engineering at TauTheta Instruments LLC from 2005 to 2007, where they developed a Multi-Frequency Phase Fluorometer research tool for biotech applications.

Earlier in their career, they worked as a DSP Firmware Engineer at PhotoSense from 1999 to 2004, and as a DSP Systems Engineer at Data Fusion Corporation for a brief period in 1999.

Nathan's academic background includes research assistant roles at the University of Colorado at Boulder from 1997 to 1999, where they developed algorithms and co-wrote conference papers on the control of sensor information in distributed multisensor systems. Nathan also had research intern roles at Texas Instruments in 1996, 1995, and 1994.

Nathan Baltz completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) at the University of Arkansas from 1993 to 1996. Nathan then pursued further education at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they obtained a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) with a specialization in Digital Signal Processing and Controls from 1997 to 1999.
