Philip Thomas

Philip Thomas currently serves as the Executive Chairman of Informa Festivals, a position held since January 2025. Prior to this role, extensive experience was accumulated at Ascential from September 1984 to January 2025, where positions included Chief Executive Officer, Chief Executive of Ascential Futures, and Chief Executive of the Ascential Marketing Division. Leadership in Ascential Events and Cannes Lions also marked a significant part of this tenure. Earlier career stages involved various managing director roles across Emap Media and Emap's different divisions, as well as editorial positions at Empire Magazine and journalism at Stamford Mercury. Philip Thomas studied at Plymouth Art College after attending Hymers College in Hull, UK.
