Gavin Maher has over 16 years of work experience in the real estate industry. Gavin has held various roles throughout their career, starting as a Research Assistant at DTZ Barnicke in 2004. Gavin then worked as a Research Analyst at Altus Helyar in 2005, where they assisted with the valuation process and preparation of appraisal reports for retail properties. In 2006, Gavin joined BLJC as an Energy and Sustainability Coordinator. Gavin was responsible for coordinating energy and sustainability initiatives within the company. In 2007, they moved to Infrastructure Ontario where they served as a Senior Sustainability Specialist until 2011. Gavin then progressed to Manager of Building & Energy Services, Director of Central Operations, and ultimately Director of Realty Operations. In their most recent role as Vice President of Real Estate Operations, Gavin was responsible for overseeing strategic and day-to-day operations for a large portfolio comprised of various types of buildings and land.
Gavin Maher received a Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Environmental Studies from the University of Toronto - Victoria University in the years 2000 to 2004. Gavin then pursued a Masters of Environmental Studies degree in Green Building Certification and Market Transformation from York University from 2005 to 2007. In 2005, they also obtained a Graduate Diploma in Business and Environment from the Schulich School of Business - York University, focusing on Sustainable Business, ISO 140001, and Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting. Additionally, they obtained a LEED AP certification from the Canadian Green Building Council in 2007.
