Jean-Francois Ouellet, MBA, has a diverse work experience spanning different domains. Jean-Francois began their career as a Fixed Income Analyst at Gestion de Placements Eterna in 2006. Jean-Francois then worked as a Financial Analyst at the Quebec Ministry of Finance, where they managed bond offerings to municipalities in the province. In 2007, Jean-Francois took on a part-time position as a Lecturer at Université Laval, teaching undergraduate students courses in Introduction to Finance and Corporate Finance.
In 2008, Jean-Francois joined SSQ Life Insurance Company as a Real Estate Analyst, where they played a crucial role in analyzing the profitability of development projects and negotiating subsidies with government entities. Jean-Francois also promoted a green mixed-use development project and handled lease negotiations with tenants. During their time at SSQ, Jean-Francois successfully negotiated lease renewals and assessed the value of a building acquired in Toronto.
In 2013, Jean-Francois joined Infrastructure Ontario (IO) as a Project Analyst in the Commercial Projects division. In this role, they actively participated in various projects, collaborating with provincial Ministry clients and third-party consultants to implement strategies and achieve targeted results. Jean-Francois managed project plans, budgets, and risk management practices, while building effective internal and external relationships.
Throughout their tenure at IO, Jean-Francois progressed to roles such as Senior Manager, Real Estate Advisor, and Senior Advisor in Commercial Projects and Transit-Oriented Communities. In these positions, they contributed to the formulation of strategies, financial models, and transaction documentation to optimize commercial opportunities. Jean-Francois also represented IO at working group meetings, participated in commercial negotiations, and supported the development of program business cases.
Currently, Jean-Francois serves as the Commercial Director for Transit-Oriented Communities at Infrastructure Ontario, where they continue their work in optimizing commercial opportunities and supporting the province's transportation infrastructure projects.
Jean-Francois Ouellet, MBA pursued their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Finance, General from Université Laval between 2003 and 2007. In addition, they hold a certification in Cultivating Cultural Competence and Inclusion from LinkedIn, obtained in 2023.
