Alan Eager

Alan Eager has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Alan is currently working as a Lead Data Architect at Ingevity since February 2021. In this role, they are responsible for strategic data design, master data management, data modeling, and analytics.

Prior to this, Alan spent a significant portion of their career at Blackbaud, where they held various positions. From 2018 to 2021, they worked as a Senior Data Engineer and Data Modeling Architect, specializing in cloud and big data technologies. Alan was involved in the design and development of business intelligence solutions using Azure infrastructure.

Before that, Alan served as a Principal Consultant, leading the Business Intelligence Practice within Professional Services at Blackbaud. Alan played a crucial role in establishing the Enterprise Professional Services practice and delivering multiple BI and Data Warehousing solutions.

Alan also worked as a Director at Cave & Holland, a VP of Marketing at Centura Software, and a Director of Product Marketing at SalesLogix Corporation. In addition, they gained experience in product marketing and management roles at Hyperion and Pilot Software.

Alan began their career at KPMG Management Consulting as an IT Consultant. Overall, they bring expertise in data architecture, business intelligence, and marketing strategy to their current role.

Alan Eager has a diverse education history. Alan obtained a BSc. in Computer Science & Management Studies from the University of Leeds in 1985-1988. Alan then pursued an MSc. in Business Systems Analysis from City, University of London in 1988-1989. Later, in 2001-2003, they completed a CIM Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from Cambridge Marketing College. In addition, Alan has acquired multiple certifications from Microsoft, including Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, Azure Fundamentals, Azure AI Fundamentals, and Azure Data Fundamentals.
