Jamie Matthews

Jamie Matthews has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Jamie co-founded and served as the CEO of Initials, a marketing agency based in London, since its inception in 2006. Jamie led a team of 60+ professionals, providing strategic and creative marketing solutions to clients such as Heineken, Fiat Group, Nestlé, and Samsung. Under their leadership, Initials adopted an hourglass-shaped agency structure to support client growth.

Prior to Initials, Jamie held the position of Board Director at the Marketing Agencies Association (MAA) from 2002 to 2018. During this time, they played a key role in promoting agency collaboration and connecting the membership of 80+ agencies. Notable outcomes of their tenure include Collective Heads and Green Jam.

Jamie's earlier work experience includes a role as Regional Director for EMEA at Arc Worldwide (previously IMP), where they ensured client satisfaction, particularly with P&G, as the agency expanded its network. Jamie also served as an Account Director at Billington Cartmell, overseeing client accounts, and at Triangle Communications, where they started as an Account Manager and rose to Account Director. At Triangle Communications, Jamie worked on major projects for Safeway, Whitbread Inns, and Barclays.

Before their career in marketing and communications, Jamie gained valuable experience as an Account Manager at the International Marketing Corporation. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated a strong track record of leadership, collaboration, and successful client service.

Jamie Matthews attended Altrincham Grammar School from 1980 to 1982. After completing high school, Jamie enrolled at Myton High School from 1982 to 1987. Finally, Jamie attended the University of Plymouth from 1987 to 1991, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with second-class honors (2:1) in Business Studies with a focus on Marketing.
