Foderaro Post-conviction Litigation Fellow at Innocence Project

Christa Alexander is currently serving as the Foderaro Post-Conviction Litigation Fellow at the Innocence Project since September 2023. Prior experience includes a legal internship at the Federal Defenders of Missouri - Capital Habeas Unit and a student attorney role in the Defense and Advocacy Clinic at St. John's University School of Law. Additional internships have been completed at Appellate Advocates, New York County Defender Services, The Legal Aid Society, and the Georgia Public Defender Council. Earlier positions include a program analyst and NYC Urban Fellow at the NYC Mayor's Office of Criminal Justice, a congressional intern for the Hon. Congressman Ami Bera, and a legal summer intern at the NYS Division of Human Rights. Christa Alexander holds a Doctor of Law (JD) from St. John's University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Political Science and Government and Sociology from Binghamton University.

The Innocence Project is a non-profit legal clinic affiliated with the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University and created by Barry C. Scheck and Peter J. Neufeld in 1992. The project is a national litigation and public policy organization dedicated to exonerating wrongfully convicted people through DNA testing and reforming the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.
