John Cooper

John Cooper is an experienced technology leader with a career spanning over three decades in software engineering and development management. Currently serving as the Head of the Manchester Technology Hub at Insight Investment since July 2019, John previously held key positions, including Head of Development at UD Group and Head of Software Engineering at SSP Limited, where responsibilities included overseeing large teams and driving agile transformation initiatives. Prior roles also include Director of Client Technology Solutions at Pershing and extensive experience at Swinton Insurance, where John led diverse teams and contributed to core information systems. Earlier in the career, John gained foundational experience in various technical and analyst roles, starting as an Analyst/Programmer at Northern Business Computers and advancing through positions at Manchester City Council.
