Rafi de Picciotto

Rafi de Picciotto has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Rafi started their career at Lucent Technologies Bell Labs as a Postdoctoral Fellow, where they conducted research on one-dimensional quantum wires and developed experimentation techniques. Rafi later became a Researcher at the same company, managing and executing an independent research program focused on cutting-edge scientific studies in the field of mesoscopic quantum nanostructures.

In 2007, Rafi de Picciotto joined B-nano LTD as the Chief Scientist. In this role, they led the development and construction of the airSEM™, a revolutionary scanning electron microscope capable of imaging objects at ambient conditions with exceptional resolution. Rafi was also responsible for engaging with customers and partners to create a market for airSEM™ products, as well as overseeing the development, sales, and service of these products worldwide in diverse markets.

In 2016, Rafi de Picciotto joined INSIGHTEC as the Director of Drug Delivery Programs. Further details about their responsibilities in this role are not provided.

Rafi de Picciotto holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, which they completed from 1989 to 1991. Rafi then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Physics at Weizmann Institute of Science from 1991 to 1994. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Condensed Matter and Materials Physics from Weizmann Institute of Science between 1994 and 1998.
