JJ Zhuang is a seasoned technology leader with extensive experience in software engineering and architecture. Currently serving as Chief Architect and holding multiple VP roles at Instacart since July 2018, JJ has a strong background in leading engineering teams and innovation in product development. Prior experience includes a tenure at Microsoft from January 2015 to July 2018 as Distinguished Engineer, where JJ directed a significant transformation of Outlook apps and services. JJ co-founded Acompli in June 2013, leading to its acquisition by Microsoft and the rebranding of its email app into the Outlook mobile app, which reached 100 million active users. Previous roles include Chief Architect and Director of Engineering at VMware, and Software Architect positions at Yahoo! and Openwave Systems Inc. JJ Zhuang holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
