Instructional Empowerment
Kevin McDonald has a diverse work experience in the field of education and leadership coaching. Kevin started their career as a Music Educator at Hillsborough County Public Schools in 2000 and continued in the same role at Leon County Schools in 2004. From 2006 to 2008, they served as a Children's Pastor at Every Nation Tallahassee. Kevin then returned to Hillsborough County Public Schools as a Music Educator from 2008 to 2009. Kevin progressed to become a 4th Grade Teacher from 2009 to 2013 and later worked as an Assistant Principal at Lomax Magnet Elementary from 2013 to 2016 and Shore Magnet Elementary from 2016 to 2019, both within the same county. Kevin then took on a role as a School Principal Leader Equity Advocate within Hillsborough County Public Schools from 2019 to 2022. In 2022, they transitioned to the role of a School Leadership Coach at both Learning Sciences International and Instructional Empowerment.
Kevin McDonald holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Florida State University, which they obtained from 1995 to 1999. Kevin then pursued a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the University of South Florida from 2010 to 2012. In 2018, they furthered their education by completing an Ed.S. in Turnaround Leadership at the University of South Florida. Currently, Kevin is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership and Administration, General from the University of South Florida.
