Bruce Currie-Alder has extensive experience in climate adaptation and resilience, currently serving as Program Leader for the Climate Adaptation and Resilience (CLARE) and the Collaborative Adaptation Research Initiative in Africa & Asia (CARIAA) at the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) since January 2003. Previously, Bruce held several key positions at IDRC, including Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Senior Policy Advisor and Chief of Staff, Senior Policy Analyst, and Researcher in Environmental and Natural Resource Management. Prior to IDRC, Bruce worked as the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Manager at Great Wall Drilling Company from 2001 to 2002. Bruce holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Public Policy, Innovation Science and Environment from Carleton University, a Master's degree in Resource Management from Simon Fraser University, and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Environmental Science and International Development from Trent University.
