Robert Saunders

Robert Saunders is an experienced security professional with a significant background in architecture and engineering across various organizations. Currently serving as the Head of Security Architecture and Engineering at Nationwide Building Society since July 2019, Robert leads a team focused on strategic planning and the establishment of security architecture roadmaps. Previous roles include Senior Security Architect at Nationwide, Distinguished Subject Matter Expert for the (ISC)², and VP Lead Security Architect at Barclays. Robert's expertise encompasses developing enterprise security strategies, managing data security domains, and providing architecture governance. With a robust academic foundation, including a PhD in High Energy Particle Physics from UCL, Robert is also noted for contributions to security governance and compliance in multiple capacities throughout a distinguished career.
