Carlos Sanchez Munoz

Carlos Sanchez Munoz has extensive experience in economic statistics, currently serving as the Assistant Director of the Statistics Department and Chief of Balance of Payments at the International Monetary Fund since April 2016. Previously, Carlos worked at the European Central Bank from April 1999 to March 2016, holding positions such as Deputy Head of the Statistics Development and Coordination Division and Principal Economist Statistician. Carlos also gained valuable experience as an Economist at Banco de España from March 1992 to March 1999. Carlos obtained a Master's degree in Economics from Universidad de Valladolid, where studies were completed between 1986 and 1991, and attended Colegio Diocesano Avila for primary and secondary education from 1974 to 1986.
