Michael Newson has extensive experience in migration and development, currently serving as a Senior Programme Coordinator for Migration & Sustainable Development and previously as Senior Labour Migration & Human Development Policy Advisor at the International Organization for Migration (IOM) since January 2012. Prior to this role, Michael held positions as Senior Policy Advisor at the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism, and Innovation from May 2009 to January 2012, and as Project Manager and Assistant to the Deputy Director TCM at IOM from January 2007 to April 2009. Academically, Michael holds an MBA from the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School (2013-2016), an M.A. in Social & Political Philosophy from York University (2004-2006), and a B.A. in English Literature & Philosophy from The University of British Columbia (1998-2003).
