Betel Hailu currently serves as the Engagement Manager for Organization Membership at the Internet Society since May 2021, after holding various roles including Communications Consultant, Communications Lead for the African Peering and Interconnection Forum, and Regional Communications Coordinator for Africa between December 2013 and October 2020. Prior to this, Betel was the Head of Communications Department at the International Committee of the Red Cross from January 2011 to December 2013. Betel Hailu holds a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from Addis Ababa University and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Indira Gandhi National Open University.
