Ana Hunsinger

VP, Community Engagement at Internet2

Ana Hunsinger currently serves as Vice President of Community Engagement at Internet2, providing executive oversight for strategic community engagement and membership programs. Since joining Internet2 in July 2001, Ana has held various roles, including Executive Director of Member Relations and Communications, where responsibilities encompassed member relations and strategic communications, and Director of State and Regional Networks, focusing on engagement with state networking organizations. Earlier experience includes management of FiberCo's projects, international relations with advanced networking organizations, and IT administration at the University of Tennessee—Knoxville. Ana also worked as an independent contractor in networking consulting and programming for multiple clients and has a background in user services and academic computing at the University of Kansas. Ana Hunsinger holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Kansas, with studies in Computer Science, Philosophy, and Film Studies.

Internet2 is a collaboration of many U.S.-based universities to develop networking and advanced applications for learning and research.The Internet2 community develops and deploys network technologies for the future of the internet. These technologies include large-scale network performance measurement and management tools, secure identityand access management tools, and capabilities such as scheduling high-bandwidth, high-performance circuits.Internet2 members serve on several advisory councils, collaborate in a variety of working groups and special interest groups, gather at spring and fall member meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning process.The Internet2 Project was originally established by 34 university researchers in 1996 under the auspices of EDUCOM.
