Dana Brunson

Executive Director For Research Engagement at Internet2

Dana Brunson has had a diverse range of work experience in research, cyberinfrastructure, and academia. Currently, they hold the position of Executive Director for Research Engagement at Internet2 since 2019. Prior to this role, Brunson served as the Campus Engagement Co-Manager at XSEDE from 2016 to 2022. They were also involved with Oklahoma State University for several years, holding positions such as Assistant Vice President for Research Cyberinfrastructure, Director of the High-Performance Computing Center, and Adjunct Professor in the Mathematics and Computer Science Departments. Additionally, Brunson was a Co-Lead at the OneOklahoma Cyberinfrastructure Initiative.

Dana Brunson holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mathematics from The University of Texas at Austin (2005), a Master's Degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University (1995), and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Oklahoma State University (1993).

Internet2 is a collaboration of many U.S.-based universities to develop networking and advanced applications for learning and research.The Internet2 community develops and deploys network technologies for the future of the internet. These technologies include large-scale network performance measurement and management tools, secure identityand access management tools, and capabilities such as scheduling high-bandwidth, high-performance circuits.Internet2 members serve on several advisory councils, collaborate in a variety of working groups and special interest groups, gather at spring and fall member meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning process.The Internet2 Project was originally established by 34 university researchers in 1996 under the auspices of EDUCOM.
