Keith Hazelton is a seasoned IT architect with extensive experience in the field, serving as a Sr. IT Architect at Internet2 since January 2000 and previously at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from November 1995 to July 2018. As a founder and co-chair of MACE (Middleware Architecture Committee for Education), Keith contributed significantly to educational technology initiatives from January 2000 to January 2018. Academically, Keith holds a PhD from Princeton University and both a BA and MA in History from the University of Minnesota.

Internet2 is a collaboration of many U.S.-based universities to develop networking and advanced applications for learning and research.The Internet2 community develops and deploys network technologies for the future of the internet. These technologies include large-scale network performance measurement and management tools, secure identityand access management tools, and capabilities such as scheduling high-bandwidth, high-performance circuits.Internet2 members serve on several advisory councils, collaborate in a variety of working groups and special interest groups, gather at spring and fall member meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning process.The Internet2 Project was originally established by 34 university researchers in 1996 under the auspices of EDUCOM.
