Kelly Faro has over two decades of experience in event planning and administrative roles, currently serving as the Manager of Community Events at Internet2 since June 2012. Prior to this position, Kelly held the role of Meeting Services Coordinator at Internet2 from October 2002 to February 2006, where responsibilities included managing logistical aspects of various meetings and improving meeting services for organizational efficiency. Before joining Internet2, Kelly worked as an Administrative Assistant at Prosys Industries, supporting executive management and overseeing ISO 9001 certification processes. Kelly's career began as a Customer Service Manager at National Amusements, where employee management and customer relations were key duties. Kelly holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Eastern Michigan University.

Internet2 is a collaboration of many U.S.-based universities to develop networking and advanced applications for learning and research.The Internet2 community develops and deploys network technologies for the future of the internet. These technologies include large-scale network performance measurement and management tools, secure identityand access management tools, and capabilities such as scheduling high-bandwidth, high-performance circuits.Internet2 members serve on several advisory councils, collaborate in a variety of working groups and special interest groups, gather at spring and fall member meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning process.The Internet2 Project was originally established by 34 university researchers in 1996 under the auspices of EDUCOM.
