Ryan Harden possesses extensive expertise in cyberinfrastructure and network engineering, currently serving as the Chief Cyberinfrastructure Security Officer (Interim) and Senior Cyberinfrastructure Security Architect at Internet2 since March 2020. In addition, Ryan is an Emergency Medical Responder for the Tolono Fire Protection District. Prior roles include Research and Advanced Networking Architect at the University of Chicago and Senior Network Engineer at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, focusing on campus network infrastructure and leading various engineering projects. Earlier in the career, Ryan contributed to IT support at Flexlink. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Network and Communications Management from DeVry University.

Internet2 is a collaboration of many U.S.-based universities to develop networking and advanced applications for learning and research.The Internet2 community develops and deploys network technologies for the future of the internet. These technologies include large-scale network performance measurement and management tools, secure identityand access management tools, and capabilities such as scheduling high-bandwidth, high-performance circuits.Internet2 members serve on several advisory councils, collaborate in a variety of working groups and special interest groups, gather at spring and fall member meetings, and are encouraged to participate in the strategic planning process.The Internet2 Project was originally established by 34 university researchers in 1996 under the auspices of EDUCOM.
