Russell Leftwich M.D. Famia

Russell Leftwich MD FAMIA is a distinguished medical professional and senior clinical advisor specializing in interoperability at InterSystems since August 2015. Russell holds key leadership roles as Co-Chair of the Clinical Interoperability Council and the Learning Health Systems Work Group at Health Level Seven International. Additionally, Russell serves as Treasurer on the Board of Directors at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Biomedical Informatics. Previous positions include Co-chair of the Implementation Committee at IHE USA and Chief Medical Informatics Officer for the State of Tennessee’s Office of eHealth, where responsibilities included promoting Electronic Health Record adoption. Russell’s educational background includes a Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and a BSE in Chemical Engineering from Arizona State University.
