Richard Harkins has a diverse work history. Richard started their career as a Senior Research Technician at the Genome Sequencing Center, where they performed clone based finishing, data analysis, and editing using various programs. Richard also conducted sequencing reactions and designed custom oligos for PCR reactions. After that, they worked as a Consultant Intern at the Nidus Center for Scientific Research. Richard then joined The DESCO Group as an Intern/Team Lead, where they gained experience in team leadership. Richard later worked as a Staff Accountant at Hochschild, Bloom & Co LLP, and eventually became a Senior Accountant at InterVision Systems.
Richard Harkins completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at The University of Alabama from 1991 to 1996. Richard then pursued further education and earned an MBA degree specializing in Finance and Strategy from Washington University in St. Louis - Olin Business School between 2006 and 2008. Richard Harkins later obtained a Masters degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, which they attended from 2009 to 2010.
