Pat Leahey has a diverse work experience, starting as a Construction Engineer at G.M. McCrossin, Inc. from 1980 to 1985. They then moved on to Lockheed Martin, where they worked as a Senior Design Engineering Manager from 1986 to 1996, managing various projects for the Hubble Space Telescope and the International Space Station. Following that, Leahey joined Applied Materials as a Senior Director of Engineering in the Etch Division from 1996 to 2005. During their time at Applied Materials, they oversaw the engineering department. In 2005, Leahey joined Intevac, first as Vice President of Product Engineering and then as the Senior Managing Director of Global Engineering and Customer Satisfaction. They were responsible for leading engineering and process teams, managing product engineering, and achieving significant revenue growth.

Pat Leahey obtained a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University, completing the degree between 1980 and 1985.
