Peter Carney has a diverse work experience in the IT industry. Peter started their career as a Senior Software Engineer at Treck, Inc. from 2006 to 2015, where they developed new features, provided technical support, and automated testing. From 2008 to 2014, they worked as an Independent IT Consultant, providing services to small businesses in various industries and managing projects and subcontractors.

In 2013, Peter joined Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice as a Systems Engineer II, responsible for managing routers, firewalls, servers, and the VoIP phone system. Peter also contributed to process automation and provided insights on emerging technologies.

Peter then worked at INTRUST Bank, where they held multiple roles. As a Cybersecurity Coordinator in 2016, they assessed the bank's security posture and developed an action plan for improvement. Peter later became the Network and Security Manager, enhancing security and resilience while implementing a Managed Security Services Provider. In 2017, they took on the role of Director - Information Technology, leading and growing the IT team, increasing its performance and commitment to providing solutions.

Currently, Peter is the Director of IT Security and Architecture at INTRUST Bank. In this role, they have enhanced the bank's security posture by implementing key defenses and designing a Vulnerability Management Program.

Peter Carney attended Kansas State University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Engineering.
