Federico Barbagli

Federico Barbagli, PhD, is a seasoned executive and academic with extensive expertise in engineering and robotics. Currently serving as Vice President and General Manager of the Endoluminal Business Unit at Intuitive since July 2013, Federico has also held several senior roles including Vice President of Engineering and Director of Systems Engineering. Since May 2007, Federico has been a consulting professor and lecturer at Stanford University, contributing to the Computer Science and Mechanical Engineering departments. Co-founder of gantto from June 2010 to June 2013, Federico was instrumental in developing cloud-based project management software. Prior experience includes serving as Chief Technology Officer at Hansen Medical and Assistant Professor at the University of Siena, Italy. Federico's educational background encompasses a PhD in Robotics from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and a postdoctoral fellowship from Stanford University, alongside degrees in Computer Science from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna.
