Jennifer Smart began their work experience in 1999 as a Human Resources Generalist at PeopleSoft. Jennifer then joined InVision Communications in 2001 as an Operations Manager and worked their way up to Vice President of Client Services by 2020. In between, they held positions as an Account Manager, Account Director, and Project Manager.

Jennifer Smart attended Diablo Valley College from 1986 to 1988. From 1988 to 1989, they studied Mass Media Communications at the University of San Diego. In 1989, Jennifer also briefly attended Saint Mary's College of California, although the specific degree and field of study are unknown.
