Shawn Turner

Shawn Turner has over 20 years of experience in the biotechnology industry. Shawn has held various roles in quality control and research at different companies. Currently, they are working at Invivoscribe as an Associate Scientist, where they are responsible for investigating product performance issues, developing solutions, and completing technical assessments. Prior to that, they worked at TriLink BioTechnologies as a Senior Quality Control Associate, where they prepared and executed QC protocols and test methods for nucleic acid products. Shawn also updated the quality control testing laboratory to meet cGMP standards. Before that, they worked at Exact Sciences as a Senior Research Associate, at Grifols Diagnostic Solutions Inc. as a Quality Control Specialist, and at Hologic (formerly Gen-Probe) in various roles, including Quality Control Specialist and Research Associate. Shawn began their career as a Research Assistant at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, where they contributed to genetic analysis projects and gained experience in cloning and plasmid preparation. Overall, Shawn has a strong background in quality control, product development, and research in the biotechnology field.

Shawn Turner completed their Bachelor's Degree in Biology, focusing on Cellular and Molecular Biology, at San Diego State University from 1992 to 1998. In 2002, they pursued an MBA in Business Administration at National University, which they completed in 2004. Shawn obtained a Specialized Certificate in Biofuels Science Technology from UC San Diego in 2011. Currently, Shawn is working towards another Specialized Certificate in Applied Bioinformatics at UC San Diego, which they started in 2022 and is expected to finish in 2024.
