Richard Williams is a highly experienced professional in the field of photonics and technology commercialization. As the Founder and Director of ioLight Magnificent Mobile Microscopes, Richard has developed a patented portable microscope that captures high-quality images outside of laboratory settings. In addition, Richard serves as a Director at Normevate Ltd, providing technical and commercial services across various industries. Previously, Richard held the positions of Director and COO at GLO Photonics, where work centered on the development of the Photonic Microcell™. Richard also has extensive consultancy experience in the photonics and biotech sectors and served as CEO of Stratophase Ltd, leading the company in developing biosensors based on integrated optical chips. Richard’s academic background includes a PhD in Physics from the University of Oxford, where initial research involved optical microchip technology and design of laser diagnostics systems for the aerospace sector.
