Stu Turner

Stu Turner has extensive experience in transportation planning and emergency management, currently serving as a Stay-at-Home Dad since July 2021. Turner has been with the Iowa Department of Transportation since August 2008, where roles have included Commercial Driver's License Program Coordinator, Transportation Alternatives Program Manager, and Planning Manager for Statewide Emergency Operations. Prior experience includes positions such as Chief Planner in the Emergency Management Division for the State of Iowa and various roles focused on transportation planning at organizations like HDR and Des Moines MPO. Education includes a Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning and a Bachelor's in History and Political Science from the University of Iowa, along with a brief study at The University of Edinburgh.
